Is it possible to set up a screen printing workshop without a heat press?

How to choose a squeegee for screen printing

I’d like to start printing my artworks on fabric and paper, but at the moment I’m not able to buy a heat press.

Are there any alternatives to buying one?

Of course, there are a number of screen printing options that would enable you to print without a heat press.

Water-based inks such as Modatex or Texprint dry at room temperature and are ideal for those, especially beginners, looking to start a small home-based workshop without having to invest significant amounts of money to buy professional equipment.

You can even use a hair dryer, heat gun or iron, all of which are convenient and inexpensive.

Furthermore, various types of inks are available for printing on paper and cardboard, including solvent-based inks, such as Serigloss or Serimat, or there’s the Biobase organic ink which is also great when it comes to cleaning the frame: you just need water!
