How thick should the emulsion be on the frame?

Emulsion on the frame screenprinting

The thickness of the emulsion should be more or less the same as the thickness of the screen.

This makes it possible, for each mesh count, to be certain that the appropriate exposure time remains constant.

To ensure you have a good layer of gel, use the following procedure:

– apply a layer of gel to the external side of the frame

– apply a layer of gel to the internal side of the frame

– go over the external side again by moving the scoop coater backwards, this removes any excess emulsion.
