It’s true: the black produced by an inkjet printer often leaves a little bit of pixelation. But it’s not poor quality film, it’s the opposite in fact.
We know that the print quality offered by inkjet plotters isn’t on a par with some of the older systems, such as an imagesetter.
Indeed, due to their nature, prints from a plotter are bound to show some slight pixelation, and this is a technical issue that’s impossible to solve.
However, the resolution and degree of blackening are more than sufficient for screen and pad printing purposes, so inkjet printers have now become universally adopted.
Inkjet printers need to be calibrated carefully, with very precise parameters, in order to achieve opaque black, and CPL Fabbrika would be happy to provide this information on request.
